I wasn’t planning on going to Rhode Island Greece.
In fact, my heart was set on Italy or maybe Morocco. But the flights were pricey, and honestly… I was tired. Like soul-deep tired. I didn’t want to “see it all” or tick boxes. I just wanted sunshine, healing, peace, and a beautiful backdrop to breathe again.
That’s how I ended up discovering Rhode Island Greece. A Greek island I hadn’t heard much about, yet it turned out to be exactly what I needed.
If you’re craving calm energy, Mediterranean charm, and a reset that still feels like a soft-life flex… let me put you on.
Where Is Rhodes Island Greece, and why should you care?
Rhode Island Greece is not the name you’ll find on airline tickets, yet it’s one of Greece’s most magical islands, floating in the Aegean Sea close to Turkey. It’s well-known for its ancient ruins and temples, its long sandy beaches and turquoise waters, and a medieval Old Town (a literal UNESCO World Heritage Site). Not to mention that its sunsets are picture-perfect, without the Santorini crowds or Mykonos prices.
It’s quiet but never boring. Peaceful but full of life. And most importantly, you can experience it without breaking the bank.
Rhodes Island Greece hotels (Where I stayed)
I chose a cozy boutique guest house tucked inside Rhodes Old Town, and every day felt like a dream. There were cobblestone streets, ivy-draped walls, and cats lounging lazily on sunlit staircases.
My room had wooden shutters, traditional Greek tiles, and the sweetest little balcony view, all for less than €65 a night.
If you’re thinking about where to stay in Rhodes Island Greece, here are some options worth checking out: The Spot Hotel, Stay Hostel, or Mango Rooms (for a budget-friendly stay), Trinity Boutique Hotel (for something mid-range), or Lindos Blu (if you’re going full-on soft-life luxury, and yes, it’s adult-only heaven).

What to eat
Greek food is both affordable and divine. I lived off these staples and still think about them almost daily. The gyros, a warm pita filled with grilled meat and creamy tzatziki that cost me less than €3. Then there were feta and olive platters, best eaten with bread and a view. And of course, Loukoumades, those soft Greek donuts dripping in honey.
And I can’t forget the Greek coffee. It’s strong, tiny, and dramatic. Just like me on vacation.
What I did
Not planning every moment turned out to be the best part. I simply went where I felt drawn to and let the island show me what it had to offer.
Some of my favorite moments were wandering through Rhodes Old Town, with its narrow alleys and charming stone-arched cafés. I also climbed the walls of the Palace of the Grand Master, swam at Anthony Quinn Bay, and watched the sun set over Lindos Village. Each place felt like a slow, deep breath.
Content girl moments
If, like me, you love to document memories, this place is made for you. I took some of my favorite travel pictures in Rhodes, and the Mediterranean light does not play.
Dreamy spots include Lindos rooftops at golden hour, stone arches in Old Town, overhead shots at Anthony Quinn Bay, and of course, mirror selfies in your Airbnb with sunlight pouring in.
Just bring flowy outfits, a scarf, and gold jewelry. Trust me, it all pops against the white walls and blue skies.

How much I spent (Rough budget for 4 Days)
The entire trip cost me a total of around €893. My round-trip flight from CA was about €593, and accommodation for three nights came to €180. I spent around €65 on food and drinks, €30 on excursions and entry fees, and about €25 on souvenirs and extras.
You can absolutely do it for less if you stay in a hostel or skip taxis. But even with comfort in mind, Rhodes remains one of the more affordable Greek islands.
For the girl who needs a break
I didn’t go to Rhode Island Greece expecting to heal, but I did.
Not in a dramatic, movie-ending kind of way. But in the little things, like drinking coffee slowly while watching older couples walk hand-in-hand, floating in still water, laughing with strangers, and simply being present in my body again.
So if you’re reading this and life feels loud, fast, or heavy… book that ticket. You deserve quiet mornings. And you deserve to feel like you again.
